SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON WITH TWO LOSSES AT CACC TOURNAMENT
Lakewood, N.J. (5/2/19) The fourth-seeded Dominican College softball team ended the season with two losses today at the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Championships, hosted by Georgian Court University.

Lakewood, N.J. (5/2/19) The fourth-seeded Dominican College softball team ended the season with two losses today at the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Championships, hosted by Georgian Court University.
In their first game of the day, the Lady Chargers fell to #5 Post University, 5-4 and were eliminated by #8 Jefferson after suffering a 4-1 setback.
Dominican ends their season with an overall record of 22-21.
Game One: The Eagles got on the board in the top of the first with a single through the right side, but Dominican struck back in the bottom of the second with three runs as shortstop Shailei Kraft (Waverly, N.Y.) and centerfielder Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) recorded back-to-back RBI singles and senior catcher Emily Luzetksy (Bel Air, Md.) drew a bases loaded walk to gain a 3-1 edge.
DC added a run in the fourth as designated player Alexandria Ledgerwood (Salem, Ore.) hit a sacrifice fly ball to centerfield to go up 4-1.
The Eagles scored two runs in the fourth and added one in the fifth to tie the game, 4-4 and scored go ahead run on the RBI single with two outs in the top of the seventh.
Freshman pitcher Madeline Uschock (Greensburg, Pa.) took the complete game loss.
Game Two: DC scored a run in their first at-bat of the contest as senior Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.) hit an infield single to score Luzetksy for the early 1-0 advantage.
The Rams got the run back in the second on a run-scoring single and added two more in the fourth frame on a two-run homer.
Jefferson closed out the game with a run in the top of the seventh for the 4-1 lead and evenutal win.
Sophomore Shelby Smith (Valley Center, Calif.) suffered the loss.
