DOMINICAN SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH MOLLOY COLLEGE
Rockville Centre, N.Y. (4/18/22) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with host Molloy College in games played today at Bob Klein Field. MC won the opener, 8-5 while the Lady Chargers rallied to win the second game, 8-4.

Rockville Centre, N.Y. (4/18/22) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with host Molloy College in games played today at Bob Klein Field. MC won the opener, 8-5 while the Lady Chargers rallied to win the second game, 8-4.
Following the split Dominican now stands at 9-15 overall.
Game One: Molloy led 1-0 after two innings of play when the Lady Chargers scored two runs in the third as Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) had an infield RBI single and an error on the play allowed a second run to score.
The Lions regained the lead with a six-run four inning and added a run in the sixth for an 8-2 advantage. DC added three runs in their final at-bat of the game as Madison Navarette (Calimesa, Calif.) hit an RBI single to centerfield and later Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) delivered a two-run double to right center for the final 8-5 score.
Navarette went 3-4 in the game, while Toni-Jo Lopez (Sylmar, Calif.) had two hits and scored two runs in the loss.
Game Two: The Lions took a 3-0 lead after two innings of play when the Lady Charger offense came alive. DC scored a run in the third on a fielder's choice and added two runs in the fourth on back-to-back doubles off the bats of Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) and Miscia to tie the game, 3-3.
The Lady Chargers took the lead in the fifth stanza as Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) led off the inning with a home run over the left field fence and later a run scored on a fielder's choice to claim a 5-3 advantage.
Two more runs came home in the sixth on Haggerty's infield single to push DC ahead 7-4 and Emma Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) produced a run-scoring single to right field in the seventh for the final 8-4 win.
Miscia finished the game with three hits, while O'Reilly, Haggerty and Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) had two hits each.
Starter Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.) got the win in four innings of work, while Paige Sasser (Brentwood, Calif.) earned her first save.
