The Tigers edged the Lady Chargers 1-0 in game one and completed the sweep with a 5-4 comeback win in game two.
The Lady Chargers now hold a record of 14-20 (9-11 CACC) on the season.
Game One: The Tigers edged the Lady Chargers 1-0 in game one. Kyra Wiens (Chilliwack, British Columbia) completed six innings pitched, recorded 12 strikeouts, and allowed no walks.
Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) finished with two hits. Brooke Lockwood (Moorpark, Calif.) and Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) each added one hit. Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) added a stolen base.
The score was locked at 0-0 through the first 4.5 innings. The Tigers' only two hits and only run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Lauren Hagy singles with two outs and then Emma Clayborne followed with a double to put the Tigers on top 1-0 and would eventually close out the win.
Ashley Remington turned in a complete game shutout for Holy Family. Remington recorded six strikeouts in the game.
Game Two: The Tigers completed the sweep over DC with a comeback victory in game two.
Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) and Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) each went 2-4 in the loss for DC. Ridge went 2-3 with an RBI-single that drove in the first run of the game and later added a double.
Lockwood added an RBI-single and later added her second RBI of the game.
The Tigers were led by Elaina Hansen who finished the game 3-4 including a double and drove in four RBIs.
Hansen added three RBIs between the fifth and sixth innings. Hansen tied the game in the fifth inning with an RBI-single and then gave the Tigers the lead with a two-RBI single in the sixth inning.
The Lady Chargers rallied in the top of the seventh inning and Lockwood cut the deficit to 5-4 when she reached on a fielder's choice.
The Tiger's starting pitcher Makenna Patterson held off the Lady Chargers in the seventh inning to complete the sweep.
DC will be back in action on Tuesday, April 26th when they return home to host the Bears of Bloomfield College. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM and game two will follow at 4:30 PM.
