Lakewood, N.J. (5/5/22) The sixth-seeded Lady Chargers of Dominican College split on day one of the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Championship Tournament in games played on the campus of Georgian Court University.

Lakewood, N.J. (5/5/22) The sixth-seeded Lady Chargers of Dominican College split on day one of the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Championship Tournament in games played on the campus of Georgian Court University.
Dominican fell in their opening game to #3 Caldwell University, 6-2, but won an elimination game against #7 Bloomfield College, 5-3.
Game One: The Cougars led 6-0 through six innings of play, but the Lady Chargers scored two runs in the top of the seventh on back-to-back run-scoring hits by Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) and Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) for the final 6-2 score.
Miscia finished the game with three hits.
Game Two: The DC offense scored three runs in their first at-bat as O'Reilly led off the inning with a solo home run and two batters later first basemen Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) blasted a two run home run over the center field fence for the early 3-0 lead.
Bloomfield got on the board with two runs in the fifth inning, but the Lady Chargers increased the lead to 4-2 in their half of the fifth on O'Reilly's second home run of the day.
The Bears scored a run in the sixth and Dominican once again countered in the bottom of the inning on the RBI single to right field from Elizabeth Tolkan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) for the final 5-3 win.
O'Reilly went 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, while Walker also had two RBI.
Starter Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) picked up the complete game victory, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and four strikeouts.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow morning at 9am as they play in an elimination game against #5 University of the Sciences on Field #2 on the campus of Georgian Court University.
