Clermont, Fla. (3/4/23) The Dominican University New York softball team concluded play at The Spring Games today with losses to Saint Anselm College, 5-0, and Notre Dame College, 8-5.

Clermont, Fla. (3/4/23) The Dominican University New York softball team concluded play at The Spring Games today with losses to Saint Anselm College, 5-0, and Notre Dame College, 8-5.
Following the losses, the Lady Chargers stand at 2-10 on the season.
Game One: The Hawks scored runs in the third, fourth and sixth inning en route to the 5-0 victory.
Jalaeya LaPorte (Sylmar, Calif.) and Emma Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded a hit for Dominican.
Pitcher Emily Baxter (Bucoda, Wash.) went the distance in the loss, striking out five batters.
Game Two: Dominican scored a run in the top of the first inning on the RBI ground out by first basemen Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) for the early 1-0 advantage.
The Falcons rallied in the bottom stanza with four runs and added a run in the third to push ahead 4-1. Toni-Jo Lopez (Sylmar, Calif.) drew a bases loaded walk in the fifth to cut the deficit to 5-2, but NDC countered with three runs in their half of the inning to go ahead 8-2.
Dominican scored three runs in the sixth with designated player Giovanna Salcido (Diamond Bar, Calif.) hitting an RBI single to left field and Walker following with a two-run single to make the score 8-5.
Salcido, Walker and Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) all had two hits in the loss.
The Lady Chargers are scheduled to return to action on March 18th when they host Southern New Hampshire University.
