Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/21/23) The Dominican University New York softball team fell in both games of a conference doubleheader to Felician University this afternoon.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/21/23) The Dominican University New York softball team fell in both games of a conference doubleheader to Felician University this afternoon.
The Lady Chargers fall to 3-17 overall and 0-4 in conference play while the Golden Falcons improve to 12-9 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Game One: Felician opened the game with three runs in the first inning. Felician added four runs in the third inning to extend to a 7-0 lead.
Giovanna Salcido (Diamond Bar, Calif.) put Dominican on the board after reaching on an error. Felician added two runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning.
Jalaeya LaPorte (Sylmar, Calif.) drove in the second run for the Lady Chargers. Riley Williams closed out the win for the Golden Falcons to improve her record to 8-4.
Felician was led by Mia Martinez who went 3-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Daisha Howard finished 2-4 with a homer and a double and a team-high three RBIs. Kathryn Steinmetz and Vienna Cheirchia each added two RBIs.
Game Two: The Golden Falcons completed the sweep over Dominican with a 13-1 win in game two. Alexis De La Cruz recorded the win for Felician on the mound to improve to 2-3.
Felician opened the game with a nine run first inning. The Golden Falcons added three runs in the third inning and one run in the fourth inning on their way to the game two victory.
Alexis Velotta drove in a team-high four RBIs by going 3-3 including a double and a homer. Darlene Valadez added three hits and two RBIs including a double. Mia Martinez added a two-run homer.
Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) finished with two hits for the Lady Chargers. Elizabeth Tolkan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) added an RBI-single to put Dominican on the board. Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Giovanna Salcido, and Jalaeya LaPorte each finished with one hit.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow as they travel to Pace University for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2:30 PM.
