COUGARS SWEEP LADY CHARGERS
Caldwell, N.J. (3/29/23) The Dominican University New York softball team lost two games to the Cougars of Caldwell University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader held today at the Caldwell Athletics Softball Field.

Caldwell, N.J. (3/29/23) The Dominican University New York softball team lost two games to the Cougars of Caldwell University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader held today at the Caldwell Athletics Softball Field.
Caldwell won both games in five innings by scorwes of 18-0 and 20-2.
Game One: The Cougars held a dominating lead after two innings of play and added three more in the third inning for the final score. Designated player Nicole Mata (Sylmar, Calif.) had the lone hit for the Lady Chargers.
Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) suffered the loss, while picking up two strikeouts.
Game Two: Centerfielder Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) led off the night cap with a solo home run over the left field fence for the early 1-0 Lady Charger lead.
Caldwell countered in the bottom of the first and added more in the second to jump out to a big lead.
Elizabeth Tolkan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the fifth for what would be the final 20-2 Cougar win.
Shortstop Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) had two hits for the Lady Chargers.
Miscia, Tolkan, Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) and Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) each had a hit in the loss.
Starter Ridge took the loss.
Up next for the Lady Chargers is a road non-conference doubleheader at Queens College.
