The Lady Chargers now hold an overall record of 10-32 and a conference record of 6-16. The Rams now stand at 14-22 overall and 8-14 in conference play.
Game One: Emily Baxter (Bucoda, Wash.) earned her seventh win of the season by throwing a complete seven innings and recorded five strikeouts.
Giovanna Salcido (Diamond Bar, Calif.) went 4-4 and hit her conference leading 14th home run. Salcido drove in a team-high four RBIs.
Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) and Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) each added two hits. Miscia added a double, a three-run homer, and scored three runs.
Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.), Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.), and Nicole Mata (Sylmar, Calif.) each recorded one hit in the win.
Salcido opened the scoring in the third inning with an RBI-single to give Dominican a 1-0 lead. Salcido hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning which extended the lead to 4-0 and Miscia added her three-run homer in the sixth inning to give Dominican a 7-0 advantage.
The Rams scored two runs in the sixth inning after an RBI-single by Victoria Juckniewitz and Annabella Zito drove in the second run on a sac fly.
Baxter held the Rams to two runs and threw a 1-2-3 seventh inning to secure the game one victory.
Game Two: The Rams bounced back in game two and earned a split with Dominican with a 9-0 win in five innings.
The Rams scored four runs in the third inning and then five runs in the fifth inning to complete the win.
Juckniewitz finished with a team-high three hits including a double and two RBIs. Winnai Hoyt added a two-RBI double while Kayla Cavanaugh added a two-RBI single.
Sam Gomez, Annie Eliason, and Kayla Warren each drove in one run.
Gianna DeLorenzo threw five shutout innings and recorded three strikeouts for her ninth win of the season.
Emma Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded a single in the third inning for Dominican.
The Lady Chargers travel to Southern Connecticut State University for a non-conference doubleheader this Tuesday at 2:00 PM.
