LADY CHARGER BASKETBALL BEATS CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Bronxville, NY (1/18/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team improved to 7-6 overall and 7-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating opponent, Concordia College, 68-59, this evening in a game played at the Meyer Athletic Center. Two Lady Chargers scored in double-digits in the victory.
Bronxville, NY (1/18/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team improved to 7-6 overall and 7-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating opponent, Concordia College, 68-59, this evening in a game played at the Meyer Athletic Center. Two Lady Chargers scored in double-digits in the victory.
Concordia held a 21-15 lead with just under ten minutes to play in the first half when Dominican went on a 15-2 tear to go ahead 30-23 and went into the break with a 32-25 advantage.
DC increased the lead to 11 points (36-25) early in the second half and would never lose the lead en route to the victory.
Guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) led all scorers with 21 points (4-7 from three point line, 9-10 from the charity stripe). LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, NY) came off the bench to net 12 points and eight rebounds, while sisters Samantha Klunk (York, PA) and Marley Klunk (York, PA) combined for 11 points and 16 caroms in the win.
KC Jentzen (Nanuet, NY) and Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) each scored nine points a-piece.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday when they travel to CACC foe, Chestnut Hill College. Game time is set for 1pm.
