MERRIMACK AND NYIT TAKE CHARGE ON DAY TWO OF DANIEL SULLIVAN MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

The Lady Chargers held a 16-10 lead in the finale with 13:27 to go in the first half, but the Bears later came back to tie the game at 25-25. From there the Bears went on a 12-3 run to gain a 38-29 advantage and heLd a five point lead (44-39) at the break.
A three point bucket by senior guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, N.J.) regained the lead for Dominican, 50-49, with 16:10 left in the game, but NYIT roared back with a 16-4 tear to go ahead for good, 65-45 en route to the 77-69 victory.
Forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) led two Lady Chargers in double figures with the game's only double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Lopez finished with 13 points, going 3-5 from the three point arc.
Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) and Nicole Welton (Southbury, Conn.) came off the bench to score nine points a-piece in the loss.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 2-3 overall.
In earlier action, Merrimack College defeated Nyack College 80-50. Four MC players finished in double figures.
