WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSTIY

(12/31/12) The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team rallied from a three point deficit in the final four minutes of the game to defeat the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 59-57, this afternoon in a non-conference game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss, Dominican falls to 6-5 on the season, while the Owls improve to 4-5 overall.

DC trailed 47-40 with just over 14 minutes to play in the second stanza but the team charged back and took the lead 51-49 on a layup from junior forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) with 10:08 on the clock.
Dominican held a 57-56 advantage with 1:33 to go, but a SCSU layup and later a free throw lifted them to the 59-57 victory.
Jentzen led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 17 points and added seven rebounds in four steals.
Bianca Harris* (Teaneck, N.J.) tallied 13 points, while Lindsey Lopez* (Elmwood Park, N.J.) netted 12 points and a game leading five assists in the loss.
LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, N.Y.) had a game leading nine rebounds.
The Lady Chargers return to action on January 5th as they travel to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Wilmington University.
