NYACK TOPS LADY CHARGERS
Nyack, N.Y. (11/26/13) The Nyack College women's basketball team scored 41 second half points to lead them to a 78-74 victory over the visiting Dominican College Lady Chargers this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division battle held at Bowman Gymnasium.

CACC Player of the Week, KC Jentzen* (Pearl River, N.Y.) and LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, N.Y.) led Dominican as they each scored 16 points in the loss, while Jentzen added a game leading 15 rebounds.
Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) netted 12 points and four rebounds, while freshman guard Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 12 points (all from the three point arc).
The Lady Chargers led 35-22 with 4:13 remaining in the first half when the Warriors came back to score the next 15 consecutive points to take a 37-35 lead with 0:46 on the clock. Sara Ismail (Clifton, N.J.) hit a jump shot with 34 seconds to go to tie the game at 37-37 at the break.
In the second half, the game was tied at 46-all when Bouffard completed a three point play (jump shot and free throw) to put DC up 49-46 with just over 15 minutes left in the game. Nyack rallied with a 22-11 run to take a 68-60 lead with 3:28 left. Hathorne hit a jumper to bring the Lady Chargers within a point (71-72) with two free throws with 52 ticks left, but the Warriors went 6-6 from the charity stripe to gain a 78-71 lead with 11 seconds to go.
McGill ended the game with her fourth trey of the game for the final 78-74 score.
The Lady Chargers shot 41.3% from the floor (26-63) and were 6-16 (37.5%) from the three point arc for the game.
Dominican is back in action next Tuesday evening as they host Pace University in a non-conference game at 7pm at the Hennessy Center.
