LADY CHARGERS DROP NON-CONFERENCE GAME TO QUEENS COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/19/14) The Dominican College women's basketball team dropped to 0-3 on the season after losing their home opener to the visiting Knights of Queens College, 78-60, this evening in a game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Junior Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) paced the Lady Chargers with 17 points and added nine rebounds.
Guard Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 12 points, while Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) grabbed a team leading 11 rebounds.
Sara Ismail (Clifton, N.J.) had a team high three blocks in the loss and freshman Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) scored seven points.
A jumper in the paint with 16:45 remaining in the first half gave the Lady Chargers their biggest at 12-5, but the Knights scored the next 10 points to pull in front, 15-12 and would later lead, 34-28 with a minute and a half left in the first half. Dominican closed out the stanza with a 5-1 run to trail 35-34 at the break.
Early in the second half, a McGill trey regained a slight 44-41 lead for the Lady Chargers, but Queens once again rallied with a 15-5 tear to take a 56-49 lead with 8:42 on the clock. Two free throws from Gabbidon cut the lead to five points, but eight straight points from QC gave them a double-digit lead and allowed them to cruise to the 78-60 win.
Dominican will host the Second Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament this weekend and will take on Molloy College on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
