WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WINS ON DAY TWO OF 2ND ANNUAL REGINA RIVERA MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/23/14) The Dominican College women's basketball team won their final game of the 2nd Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament by defeating the Dowling College Lions, 62-59, this afternoon in a game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican improves to 1-4 on the season.
DC used two free throws from sophomore Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) with just under four minutes to play in the first half to gain their biggest edge of the first half at 26-19. Five straight Golden Lions points cut the lead to two, but a Bouffard jumper with 1:12 on the clock gave the Lady Chargers a 28-24 advantage which ended the first stanza.
The Lady Chargers extended the lead to seven points early in the second half, but Dowling rallied with a 16-4 run to claim a 45-41 lead with just over nine minutes to play. Seven unanswered Dominican points regained the lead (48-45), but Dowling would rally again and used a three-point bucket to go up 55-54 with under four to play.
Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit a big trey with 3:36 to go to regain the lead for DC (57-55) and the Lady Chargers would hold on en route to the 62-59 victory.
Bouffard finished with a career high 24 points (8-15 from the floor, 8-10 from the free throw line) and had five rebounds in the win.
Senior Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) added 11 points and eight rebounds, while McGill finished with eight points.
Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) came off the bench to grab a team best 13 rebounds and seven points.
Dominican will take on conference opponent, Concordia College, on September 25th.
