SECOND HALF RUN SECURES SETTERS VICTORY
Pleasantville, N.Y. (1/2/15) The Dominican College women's basketball team began the 2015 portion of their schedule with a 61-43 non-conference loss to the Setters of Pace University this afternoon in a game played at Goldstein Fit Center.

With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 5-9 overall on the season.
DC trailed 23-21 with 2:46 remaining in the first half when sophomore Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit consecutive treys to regain a 27-23 lead. A Setter three-point basket tipped the scales to put them ahead 28-27, but Nicole Awoonor-Renner (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) closed out the half by going one of two from the charity stripe to send the teams into the locker room with a tied contest, 28-28.
The Lady Chargers trailed 35-34 with 16:19 remaining in regulation when Pace pulled away with a 16-2 run that spanned almost five minutes to go up 47-36. Pace would maintain the double digit lead en route to the 61-43 victory.
McGill led Dominican with eight points.
Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) grabbed a team best eight rebounds, to go along with six points, while Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) also had six points.
Stefani Alston* (West Orange, N.J.) recorded seven caroms and newcomer Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) added seven points off the bench.
Dominican is back in action on January 10th when they host Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. Tip-off is slated for 1pm on Coach Baxter Court.
