WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BEATS POST UNIVERSITY

(1/28/15) The Dominican College women's basketball team won their second straight game after defeating host, Post University, 85-77, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played at the Drubner Center. Following the victory, the Lady Chargers improve to 9-11 overall and 7-4 in conference play.

Following the victory, the Lady Chargers improve to 9-11 overall and 7-4 in conference play.
The game was knotted at 33-all with 4:17 remaining in the first half, when the Lady Charger offense charged ahead with a 17-1 first half ending run, finished by an and-one play from sophomore guard Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) for the 50-34 lead.
The Eagles would cut the deficit to five points (77-72) with under four minutes left to play, but a 7-2 DC run would regain the double-digit advantage (84-74) and the team would go on to the 85-77 victory.
Forward Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) paced Dominican with 23 points, while adding five rebounds and four assists.
Senior Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) added 21 points and five rebounds, while Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) came off the bench to score 12 points and complete the double-double with a night best 13 caroms.
Rywalt tied her career high with 10 points, a team leading six assists and five rebounds.
Dominican will host the Chestnut Hill College this coming Saturday at 2pm at the Hennessy Center in the 14th Annual Sue Heller Memorial Game.
