Following the loss, the Lady Chargers drop to 9-12 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
Dominican had the slight 4-3 advantage with 15:24 to go in the first stanza on a layup from sophomore Stefani Alston* (West Orange, N.J.), but the Griffins clawed back with a 14-4 tear to go ahead 19-8 with a little over seven minutes on clock and would later take a 29-18 advantage into the locker room at the half.
Trailing 39-30 with 15:30 to go, DC made it interesting by scoring the next nine straight points to turn the tables and regain the lead, 40-39. CHC answered back with a 16-2 run to regain a double-digit advantage, 55-42 and would lead by as many as 22 points en route to the 70-50 win.
Senior Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) led Dominican with 10 points and four steals, along with contributing eight rebounds.
Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.), the recipient of the annual Sue Heller Memorial Scholarship, came off the bench to score eight points and grab a team leading 12 rebounds (10 of them on the defensive end).
Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) tallied nine points, all from the three-point arc, while Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) amassed a career high and game best seven assists.
The Lady Chargers will host Concordia College on Wednesday evening in a CACC North Division battle slated for 5:30 pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
