LADY CHARGERS DEFEAT CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/4/15) The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated the visiting Clippers of Concordia College, 73-55, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division battle played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican improves to 10-12 overall and 8-5 in conference play.
Concordia took the early 6-2 advantage and mantained a lead until freshman Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) hit two free throws with 9:36 left in the first period to give Dominican a 12-11 lead. A 12-6 DC run increased the lead to 24-17 with under five minutes to play and a 13-4 first half closing tear gave the Lady Chargers a 35-21 lead at the break.
In the first half, junior Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) came off the bench to net 17 points, 10 revounds and three steals.
The Clippers would cut the deficit to 13 points twice in the second stanza, but that would be as close as they would get as the Lady Chargers would post the 73-55 win.
In the second half, shooter Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) had 12 points (4-6 from the three point arc).
Gabbidon recorded game highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds and finished with a career high eight steals in the victory.
McGill netted 12 points, while senior Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) had 11 points.
Dominican will travel to conference opponent, Wilmington University this coming Saturday. Game time is set for 1pm.
