WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH A VICTORY OVER NYACK COLLEGE
Nyack, N.Y. (2/24/15) The Dominican College women's basketball team ended the 2014-2015 regular season with a 78-51 victory over host, Nyack College, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played this evening.

With the win, the Lady Chargers complete the series sweep of the Warriors and end the regular season with an overall record of 15-13 and a 13-6 conference record.
Dominican College had the 15-12 advantage when the team went on the 21-7 tear to increase the lead to 36-19 with 5:34 left in the first half. A three-point basket from Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) gave DC their biggest lead, 45-28, before Nyack closed out the half with two free throws for the 45-30 lead at the break.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in the second half and used a layup from freshman Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) to give them a 34 point lead (72-38) with 8:02 left in the game. Nyack closed out the game with a 13-6 run for final 78-51 score.
Forward Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points (6-11 from the floor) and nine rebounds.
Senior Lashonda Hathorne* (Queens, N.Y.) added 17 points and four rebounds, while Rywalt finished with 10 points, three assists and a career high five steals.
Rabeiro and Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) each came off the bench to score 10 points and four rebounds. Rabeiro added five steals and four assists, while Gabbidon blocked two shots and had four steals.
DC has earned the third seed in the North Division and will be on the road for a CACC Tournament Quarterfinal game this coming Saturday.
