WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS IN ECAC SEMIFINALS

(3/14/15) Junior Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J) led four Lady Chargers in double figures with 22 points and nine rebounds in a 81-72 loss to the top seeded Lions of The Lincoln University in an Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament Semifinal game played at Manuel Rivero Hall.

(3/14/15) Junior Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J) led four Lady Chargers in double figures with 22 points and nine rebounds in a 81-72 loss to the top seeded Lions of The Lincoln University in an Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament Semifinal game played at Manuel Rivero Hall.
Freshman guard Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) tied her career high with 15 points in reserve for the Lady Chargers in addition to four rebounds and three assists. Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) added 14 points, while Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) contributed 12 points, all from the three point arc.
Dominican, the fourth seed in the tournament, opened the contest with an 8-2 run and used two free throws from Gabbidon to take a 23-16 advantage with 8:29 left in the first half. The Lions rallied to later tie the game at 31-31, but an and-one play by Rabeiro gave the Lady Chargers a 35-33 lead at the break.
A 16-3 run by the Lions put them ahead early in the second half, 49-38 and would extend the lead to 66-49 with just over nine minutes to play. The Lady Chargers came back with 14 unanswered points to cut the deficit to 66-63 with 5:29 on the clock, but that would be as close as they would get en route to the 81-72 loss.
With the loss, Dominican ends the season with an overall record of 15-15.
The Lincoln University advances to the ECAC Championship and will take on Bluefield State tomorrow afternoon in the ECAC Championship.
