DEVILS RALLY TO EDGE LADY CHARGERS
Philadelphia, Pa. (1/12/16) The University of the Sciences women's basketball team rallied from a 39-26 halftime deficit to defeat the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College, 66-64, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played in Bobby Morgan Arena.

Dominican outscored the Devils 20-14 in the first frame with senior Déja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) leading the way with seven points.
The Lady Chargers extended the lead to as many as 13 points in the second quarter as Gabbidon closed out the half with a jumper for a 39-26 Lady Charger lead.
Gabbidon led all scorers at the end of the first half with 16 points, while Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) had eight points and Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) had five assists.
DC shot 57.1% (16-28) in the first half from the floor, while going 3-7 (42.9%) from the three point arc and was a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.
USciences came out of the locker room on a mission in the third quarter as they turned the tables on the Lady Chargers and outscored them 21-14 to cut the deficit to 53-47.
In the final quarter, Nicole Awoonor-Renner (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) gave Dominican an eight point advantage (55-47) on two free throws with 8:41 on the clock. She later made the score 57-50 on a layup with a little over six minutes remaining, but that's when the Devils went on a 15-2 tear to claim a 64-60 lead with 1:18 to play and hung on for the 66-64 victory.
Gabbidon led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 22 points and four rebounds.
Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) recorded 14 points and grabbed a team leading eight rebounds, while Alston finished with 10 points and four caroms.
Rywalt finished with a game best seven assists.
Following the loss, the Lady Chargers are now 9-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Wednesday evening as they travel to Caldwell University.
