GABBIDON LEADS LADY CHARGERS OVER NYACK WARRIORS

(1/28/16) Senior forward Déja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) netted a career high 30 points and grabbed a night best 19 rebounds in leading the Dominican College women's basketball team to a 71-53 victory this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division battle played on Coach Baxter Court.

With the win, Dominican improves to 10-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
The contest was knotted at 8-all with just under five and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter when the Lady Chargers charged ahead with a 13-2 tear to pull infront 21-10 and ended the first frame with a 24-15 lead.
The Warriors cut the lead to seven points at the beginning of the second quarter, but DC quickly went back up by double figures and ended the half on a jumper from Gabbidon to put them up 34-21.
Gabbidon netted 17 first half points and completed the double-double with 13 of her 19 rebounds.
Dominican held their biggest lead of the game with 2:55 left in the final stanza as Gabbidon converted two free throw opportunities to extend their lead to 16 points (62-46).
Shooter Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to net 12 points, nine of them coming from the three point arc.
Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) finished with eight points and five rebounds, while Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) had a night best seven assists and six caroms.
DC will host Wilmington University this coming Saturday.
