QUICK START LEADS LADY CHARGERS OVER FELICIAN UNIVERSITY

(2/17/16) The Dominican College women's basketball team opened the game with the first 12 points and outscored Felician University, 27-9, in the first quarter to lead them to an 85-50 victory this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican improves to 12-14 overall and 8-9 in conference play.
DC had a 12-0 lead and extended their lead in the first stanza to 17-2 following a three-point basket from senior Déja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) with 4:32 left in the quarter. Gabbidon would finish the frame with 17 points.
The Lady Chargers would lead by as many as 23 points (38-15) with just under three minutes to play in the half and headed into the locker room with a 46-23 advantage.
Dominican opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run, begun and ended on treys from Gabbidon to increase the lead to 56-23. DC would lead by as many as 38 points (70-32) with 42 ticks left in the third quarter en route to the victory.
Twelve different players recorded points for Dominican, led by Gabbidon with 28 points. Jacqueline Rywalt* (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) and Shannon McGill* (Staten Island, N.Y.) each scored nine points, while Rywalt had a night best six assists.
Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) grabbed a team best seven rebounds, while Lisa Bouffard (Walkill, N.Y.) contributed eight points and five boards.
DC outrebounded the Golden Falcons 48-32, while shooting 48.5% (33-68) from the floor for the game.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Nyack College this coming Saturday for a 1pm CACC North Division clash.
