CLIPPERS RALLY TO TOP LADY CHARGERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (12/3/16) The Concordia College women's basketball team rallied from a nine-point (22-13) first quarter deficit to defeat the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 68-65, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

(12/3/16) The Concordia College women's basketball team rallied from a nine-point (22-13) first quarter deficit to defeat the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 68-65, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in CACC play.
The Lady Chargers opened the contest with the first seven points and used a layup from junior guard Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) to increase the lead to 15-6 with 3:43 to play in the first quarter. A jumper from senior Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) gave DC a 12 point advantage (22-10) with 57 seconds to go, but a three from the Clippers would make the score 22-13 at the end of one quarter.
Concordia opened the second frame with a 15-6 run to tie the game, 28-28, with 5:32 to go. A Rabeiro layup put DC ahead, 32-30, but the Clippers closed out the quarter on a 7-2 run to take a 37-34 lead at the break.
Rabeiro finished the first half with 19 points.
Dominican would rally in the fourth quarter as senior Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) opened the quarter with the first seven points to regain a 53-51 lead with 8:44 on the clock. Bouffard would later re-tie the game with key free throws (65-65) with a little over a minute to go. A Lady Charger foul would put the Clippers on the line twice in the remaining 30 seconds and they would go 3-4 to secure the 68-65 win.
Rabeiro led two Lady Chargers in double figures with 22 points (shooting 50% from both the floor and foul line) and added six rebounds, two steals and two assists.
Bouffard finished with 20 points and seven boards, while Jacqueline Rywalt (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) and Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had five assists.
Alston came off the bench to net seven points and a team high nine rebounds.
The Lady Chargers travel to CACC foe, Felician University, this coming Tuesday night.
