Rutherford, N.J. (12/6/16) The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated host, Felician University, 68-63, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played in Job Gymnasium.

With the win, Dominican improves to 1-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Felician opened the game on a 5-0 run, but the Lady Chargers went on an 11-2 run to claim an 11-7 lead with just under four minutes to play in the first quarter. The game was tied, 11-11, with 2:04 to go when guards Jacqueline Rywalt (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) and Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) netted a jumper and a three-point basket to give DC a 16-12 lead at the end of one quarter.

A layup from senior forward Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) gave Dominican their biggest lead of the game, 22-14, with 2:39 to go before the break. An 8-4 closing run by the Golden Falcons made the score 26-22 at the intermission.

DC would maintain the lead for the remainder of the contest, scoring 21 points in the third and fourth quarters for the 68-63 win.

Senior forward Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) led three Lady Chargers in double figures with the game's only double-double 16 points and 10 caroms.

Bouffard finished with 14 points, six, three steals and four assists, while Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) added 12 points.

The Lady Chargers will host Bloomfield College this coming Saturday afternoon in the Hennessy Center.
