The Lady Chargers opened the contest with a 12-4 run before the Eagles clawed back with a 16-4 tear to close out the first quarter and put them infront, 20-16.
DC scored 11 out of the first 15 points in the second frame, capped off by a three-point bucket from senior guard Shannon McGill (Staten Isalnd, N.Y.), to give them a 29-24 advantage with 5:56 to play before the break. Post rallied again and netted the final eight points of the half to take a 37-31 lead into the locker room.
The Eagles continued on their run to start the third stanza and held their biggest lead, 48-33, with 3:50 left in the quarter and would maintain a double-digit lead (53-43) at the end of three quarters.
Dominican (5-14, 5-5 CACC) rallied in the fourth as they opened the quarter with the first ten points, all scored by senior forward Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.). Jacqueline Rywalt (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) regained the lead for Dominican, 62-61, on a jumper with 3:45 on the clock and closed out the game with the final two baskets for the 66-61 win.
Alston finished with a team high 19 points and nine rebounds.
Junior Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) scored 12 points and five assists, while McGill and Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) netted 11 points a-piece off the bench.
Rywalt had a team best six assists and seven boards.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Concordia College next Tuesday.
