LADY CHARGERS WIN ON SENIOR DAY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/18/17) The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated the visiting Warriors of Nyack College, 64-61, this afternoon on Senior Day at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 11-16 overall and 11-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored seniors #1 Sara Ismail (Clifton, N.J.), #5 Jacqueline Rywalt (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.), #13 Shannon McGill (Staten Island, N.Y.) #30 Chelsea Crawford (Montgomery, N.Y.), #32 Stefani Alston (West Orange, N.J.) and #35 Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.).
Bouffard led four Lady Chargers in double figures with 18 points (8-11 from the floor).
Junior Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) netted 12 points and six assists, while Rywalt had 11 points, four steals and a team best seven assists.
Ismail finished with a career high 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks and Alston grabbed a team high seven boards in the win.
Nyack held a 13-12 advantage at the end of one quarter of play, but the Lady Chargers would battle back to close out the second quarter on a 6-3 run to claim a 27-24 lead at the intermission.
The Lady Chargers used a 14-6 third frame run to pull ahead, 45-36, and would maintain a double-digit lead (50-40) going into the final 10 minutes.
Dominican led by as many as 18 points in the final period, but a 19-2 Warrior tear cut the deficit to 60-59 with 29 ticks left. Rywalt secured the win as she closed out the game going 4-4 from the charity stripe in the final 14 seconds.
DC will conclude the regular season this coming Tuesday night when they travel to Bloomfield College.
