WOMEN'S BASKETBALL STUMBLE AGAINST NYIT

(11/19/17) The Dominican College women's basketball squad lost a non-conference game to the visiting Bears of the New York Institute of Technology, 82-64, this afternoon in the third game of the 5th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican College on Coach Baxter Court.

With the win, NYIT improves to 3-2 while Dominican falls to 0-4 on the season.
The Lady Chargers opened first quarter play with a 7-0 run and held the lead until the 4:16 mark when a Bear layup put them ahead, 10-9. An 11-7 closing quarter run increased the NYIT lead to 21-16.
NYIT continued to dominate offensively as they outscored Dominican 24-12 in the second quarter to take a 45-28 lead into the locker room at the break.
Ciera Rivera (Pomona, N.Y.) and Alpreshia Parker (Pocono Summit, Pa.) each netted seven points in the half.
Parker paced the Lady Charger offense as she finished with 13 points and four rebounds off the bench.
Rivera finished with nine points and four assists, while freshman Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) contributed eight points and a team best seven boards in reserve.
Freshman Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) and Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) each scored seven points and a combined five rebounds in the loss.
Dominican will return to action a week from today as they host Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday, November 26th at 2pm on Coach Baxter Court.
