With the win the Devils, currently ranked third in the D2SIDA East Region Poll, improves to 15-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play, while the Lady Chargers fall to 5-10 overall and 4-3 in the CACC.
The Lady Chargers recorded the game's only basket as Alpreshia Parker (Pocono Summit, Pa.) made a jump shot, but an 8-4 spurt put the Devils ahead, 8-6, with 3:25 remaining in the quarter. Back-to-back Devil treys extended their lead to 14-6 and a three-point bucket to end the quarter gave them an 17-10 advantage.
USciences netted the first eight points of the second frame to increase the lead to 25-10 with under five minutes remaining and the Lady Chargers closed out first half play on a 11-2, including a trey from Parker with one tick on the clock to cut the deficit to 27-21 at the intermission.
Dominican would cut the Devil lead to single digits four times in the second half, getting as close as 39-31 with 2:10 left in the third. However a USCI 6-2 run to close out the third quarter brought the lead back up to double-digits, 45-33 and they would go on to the 60-44 win.
Freshman Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led Dominican with 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Parker finished with nine points and five rebounds, while Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) contributed eight points, five boards and two blocks.
DC will travel to Chestnut Hill College next Tuesday evening for a CACC contest slated to begin at 6pm.
