BEARS LEAVE WITH VICTORY OVER WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

(1/24/18) The Bloomfield College women’s basketball team completed the series sweep of the Dominican College Lady Chargers this evening after leaving the Hennessy Center with the 68-52 win in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division action played on Coach Baxter Court.

With the win, Bloomfield improves to 9-9 and 9-2 in conference play, while the Lady Chargers fall to 6-12 overall and 5-5 in the CACC.
Senior guard Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) led two Lady Chargers in double figures with 14 points, five assists and four steals.
Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) added 13 points. Ciera Rivera (Pomona, N.Y.), Kyla Ramseur (Bloomfield, N.J.) and Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) all grabbed four rebounds in the loss.
Dominican led 8-5 with 6:10 to play in the first quarter when the Bears clawed back with a 7-2 run to edge ahead, 12-10 with under four minutes to play in the period. DC closed out the quarter on a 10-6 spurt, ended with a Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) jumper to give the Lady Chargers the 20-18 advantage.
Bloomfield outscored DC 11-8 in the second frame to head into the break with the 29-28 edge. Zhane Robinson led all scorers with 16 points in the half. Rabeiro led Dominican in the half with nine points.
The Bloomfield offense continued to dominate in the third quarter as they scored 21 points to DC's nine points to jump out to 50-37 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
BC maintained the double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the contest, with their biggest lead being 18 points (68-50) with 1:40 to play, en route to the 68-52 victory.
The Lady Chargers will host Jefferson this coming Saturday afternoon in the 17th Annual Sue Heller Memorial Game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
