WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WIN BIG ON SENIOR NIGHT

(2/21/18) The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated the visiting Clippers of Concordia College, 81-64, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division contest played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. Tonight was also Senior Night for the Lady Chargers as they honored two very special members of the team.

Tonight was also Senior Night for the Lady Chargers as they honored two very special members of the team.
Prior to the start of the game, the team honored seniors #11 Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) and #20 Renee Briggs (Cornwall, N.Y.) for their hard work and dedication to the women's basketball program over their careers with the Lady Chargers.
Dominican tied their season high with 41 first half points, with 28 of them coming in the first quarter as they cruised to a 41-19 advantage at the break.
Sophomore Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) led all scorers in the first half with 10 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) added nine points off the bench.
DC ended the game shooting 45.3% (29-64) from the floor, 42.9% (6-14) from the three-point arc and 17-24 (70.8%) from the foul line.
The team dominated the boards, out rebounding their opponents, 49-37.
Gee tied her career high as she finished the game with 22 points and completed the double-double with 12 rebounds.
Tomlinson netted 11 points and eight boards, while Ciera Rivera (Pomona, N.Y.) tallied eight points and five caroms.
With the win, Dominican improves to 10-17 overall and 9-9 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers will conclude the regular season this coming Saturday when they travel to Nyack College.
