LADY CHARGERS FALL IN CACC CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTERFINALS

(3/5/19) The Dominican College women's basketball team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship quarterfinal action tonight in a game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. The Lady Chargers, the top seed in the North Division, were upset by the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning, the four seed in the South Division, 75-60.

The Lady Chargers, the top seed in the North Division, were upset by the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning, the four seed in the South Division, 75-60.
With the win, the Lightning advance to the CACC Championship semifinals while Dominican concludes their season with an overall record of 16-13.
Junior forward Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) delivered a team high 18 points, six rebounds and four blocks.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) netted 17 points, while Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) grabbed a game best 12 rebounds and 12 points.
Goldey-Beacom were led by Amanda McGrogan with a night best 30 points.
The first quarter saw the Lady Chargers use an 8-4 spurt to take a 15-10 lead with a little over two minutes left. GBC would come back to tie the scorea t 15-all, but senior Ciera Rivera (Pomona, N.Y.) scored a layup with nine ticks left to give DC a 19-17 edge.
Dominican held the 19-18 point advantage in the second frame to hold a 38-35 lead at the intermission.
The Lady Chargers opened the third quarter on a 6-2 run to extend their lead to 44-37, but the Lightning rallied with a 19-11 closing quarter run to pull in front 56-55 edge.
The Lightning pulled away in the fourth frame, outscoring Dominican 19-5, to claim the 75-60 win.
