Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/13/19) The Adelphi University Panthers upended the Dominican College women's basketball team 70-62, this evening in a non-conference game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
The Panthers led 62-56 with a little over four minutes to play in the fourth quarter when the Lady Chargers went 6-6 from the foul line over the next two and a half minutes to tie the game at 62-all with 1:44 to go. AU countered to close out the game on an 8-0 run to take home the 70-62 win.
Dominican shot well from the foul line, going 22-23 (95.7%).
Senior Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) led two players in double figures and had the team's only double-double with 21 pionts (9-12 from the floor) and 10 rebounds.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) recorded 14 points (10-10 from the charity stripe), while Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) chipped in nine points. Kyla Ramseur (Bloomfield, N.J.) had a night best five assists, to go along with two steals and four points in the loss.
For the Panthers, Katie Murphy produced a night best 23 points, while Emma Cuccurullo added 13 points and 12 boards. Leonie Edringer added 16 points and 11 caroms.
Dominican (1-2) returns to action on Saturday afternoon in the 7th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican College. DC will take on The College of Saint Rose at 12pm on Coach Baxter Court.
