LADY CHARGERS END REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN OVER COUGARS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/27/21) The Dominican College women's basketball team completed the regular season today with a 66-43 victory over the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action held today on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican concludes the regular season with an overall record of 9-1 and a CACC record of 8-1. They finish the regular season in second place in the conference standings.
Today was labeled as Senior Day, where teammates of seniors #35 Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) and #11 Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) decorated the gym with posters and balloons in honor of their dedication to the women's basketball program in their tenure.
Gee led all scorers and three Lady Chargers in double figures with 15 points and seven rebounds, while adding three blocks.
Guard Guerra finished with 11 points, two assists, two steals and three rebounds, while sophomore Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) just missed a double-double with 10 points and tied her career high with eight assists.
Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) and Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) each scored eight points, while Latimer added four rebounds, four assists and a career high six steals.
Dominican opened the contest with the first two baskets and led 7-2 on a trey from Latimer with 7:37 on the clock. Caldwell cut the lead to 14-9 late in the quarter, but a 6-2 closing quarter run by DC gave them the 20-11 advantage.
DC outscored the Cougars 18-11 in the second quarter to head into the intermission with a 38-22 lead. Gee led the way in the second frame with seven points (shooting 3-5 from the floor).
The third quarter belonged to the Cougars as they netted 13 points to the Lady Charger seven. Dominican struggled shooting 2-9 in the quarter which cut the lead to 45-35 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
The Lady Chargers would take their biggest lead of the contest on a layup by Gee with 3:39 (37-66) on the clock en route to the 66-43 win.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the CACC Women's Basketball Tournament slated to begin next Tuesday evening.
