WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROP NON-CONFERENCE CONTEST TO OWLS
New Haven, Conn. (11/22/22) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team lost a non-conference game to host, Southern Connecticut State University, 68-60, this evening in a game played in the James Moore Fieldhouse.

Following the loss the Lady Chargers are now 3-3 overall, while the Owls improve to 3-1.
Guard Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points and had a team best four assists.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) contributed 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Freshman Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) pulled down six rebounds a-piece and combined for 14 points.
For the Owls, Ashley Evans and Delaney Conners netted 15 points a-piece.
Dominican trailed 63-50 with 5:21 to play in regulation when the team went on a 10-2 run, capped off with a layup from Mills, to pull within five points (65-60) with under a minute to go. The Owls were able to close out the game by going 2-3 from the charity stripe for the final 68-60 victory.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Assumption University.
