SUAREZ AND MILLS COMBINE FOR 37 POINTS IN WIN OVER ST. ROSE
Albany, N.Y. (12/18/22) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team bounced back to defeat the College of Saint Rose by a score of 74-65.

The Lady Chargers improve to 7-5 overall after the win.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) and Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) combined for 37 points to help lead Dominican to victory. Suarez finished with team-highs in points with 19 and assists with eight. Suarez went 3-5 from three-point range and added a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.
Mills scored 18 points including a 5-9 mark from the field and 8-10 from the free-throw line. Mills also picked up five boards and two assists in the win.
Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) each added nine points. Howard also recorded six rebounds and three steals. Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with eight points and three rebounds while Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) added five points and four rebounds.
Both teams played an even first half. The largest lead for Dominican in the first half was six points and held a three point lead by halftime 36-33.
The Golden Knights jumped out to a slim lead in the third quarter but the Lady Chargers finished the quarter on a 16-4 run.
Dominican extended to a double digit lead in the fourth quarter on their way to a victory.
The Golden Knights were led by Kaileigh Hunt who scored 11 points and added eight rebounds and six assists. Makaela Johnson finished with 10 points. Ryley Blasetti and Aniya McDonald-Perry each finished with nine points.
The Lady Chargers return home and return to conference play when they host Caldwell University on Thursday, December 29th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
