The Lady Chargers used a strong fourth quarter to close out the 56-39 victory to improve to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) led the way for the Lady Chargers with 16 points on 6-12 shooting from the field and added four three-pointers. Teklits also finished with four boards, two assists, and one steal.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) added eight points, four boards, four assists, and a team-high five steals. Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) recorded a team-high seven boards and six assists. Mills also scored seven points in the win.
Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed six rebounds and four points off the bench while Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) added six points and two steals off the bench.
The Lady Chargers held the Wildcats to 16 first half points and held a 31-16 lead by halftime. Dominican extended to their largest lead of the game early in the third quarter which was 17 points.
The Wildcats rallied to cut the Dominican lead to single digits after a 12-0 third quarter run and outscored the Lady Chargers 14-6 in the quarter.
Wilmington cut the deficit to three points before Dominican answered with an 11-2 run on their way to a 56-39 victory.
The Wildcats were led by Fatou Ndao and Amber Washington who each scored eight points. Ndao added six rebounds and four blocks while Washington recorded a team-high 12 boards.
Next up for the Lady Chargers are the Bears of Bloomfield College on Tuesday, January 10th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
