WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WRAPS UP 22-23 REGULAR SEASON WITH A WIN OVER ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY
Jersey City, N.J. (2/25/23) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team finished the 2022-2023 regular season with a victory over Alliance University this afternoon.

With the win, the Lady Chargers complete the season sweep over Alliance University and finish with an overall record of 18-10 and a CACC record of 13-5. Dominican finishes the season as the #2 seed in the CACC North Division standings.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) led the way for Dominican with a season high 21 points on 10-14 from the field. Suarez also added five steals, four assists, and three boards.
Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) each scored 12 points. Mills also recorded a team-high five assists while Howard recorded three rebounds.
Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 points in the win while Elle Nittinger (Waverly, N.Y.) recorded a team-high five rebounds.
The Lady Chargers got off to a strong start in the first quarter and led 18-9 by the start of the second quarter. Dominican extended to their largest lead of the first over AU which was 23 points and held a 42-22 lead by halftime.
Dominican continued their strong play in the second half and extended to their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter on their way to the 80-54 victory.
Dominican finished the game shooting 55.7% from the field. Dominican added 24 points off of AU turnovers and added 42 points in the paint.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the 2023 CACC Championship Quarterfinals on Tuesday when they host Chestnut Hill College.
