WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROLLS PAST WILDCATS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Newark, Del. (2/17/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team won their second straight game this afternoon over the Wildcats of Wilmington University at the WU Athletics Complex.
The Lady Chargers improve to 11-13 overall and 7-6 in the CACC after the win.
Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.), Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.), and Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) each finished in double figures and all combined for 38 points.
Howard scored a team-high 14 points and recorded six boards, two steals, and two blocks. Mills scored 13 points and added a team-high seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
DiMarsico scored 11 points including 3-6 from three-point range and pulled down a team-high eight boards. Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored eight points and also added six boards, five assists, two steals, and two blocks.
The game was tied at 10-10 after the first quarter and then the Lady Chargers pulled away in the second quarter outscoring WILMU 18-1 and held a 28-11 lead at halftime and remained in control the rest of the game.
The Lady Chargers extended to their largest lead of the game which was 26 points in the third quarter.
Dominican held the edge in assists, points off turnovers, points in the paint, and fastbreak points.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Tuesday night when they visit the Bears of Bloomfield College of MSU for a north division match up at 5:30 PM.
