LACROSSE RALLIES FOR VICTORY OVER CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE

(4/8/14) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team rallied from a 13-10 deficit with under ten minutes left to play to defeat the visiting Griffins of Chestnut Hill College, 15-13, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Following the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Trailing 13-10 with 8:53 remaining in the second half, Dominican went on a 5-0 run to close out the game for the 15-10 win. Sophomore Christina Brennan (Washington Township, N.J.) netted the game-tying goal, her 20th of the season) off the assist from Allison Smithwick (Commack, N.Y).
Smithwick ended the game with her third goal of the game off the assist from Kelly Barbarite (Smithtown, N.Y.) for the 15-13 win.
Brennan led Dominican with four game goals and added one assist for five game points.
Smithwick and Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) finished with three goals, while Smithwick had one assist.
Barbarite finished with four game points, two goals and two assists.
Goalie Brittany Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) finished with 11 saves.
