DOMINICAN COLLEGE NAMED 2017 IWLCA ZAG SPORTS ACADEMIC HONOR SQUAD, TWO APPEAR ON ACADEMIC HONOR SQUAD

Grand Lake, Colo. (7/31/17)  Announced on Wednesday, July 26, by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), a total of 242 student-athletes from 67 different institutions earned recognition on the 2017 Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.  Among the honorees are two members of the Dominican College women's lacrosse team; juniors Aileen Burke (Pearl River, N.Y.) and Cara Moran (Tomkins Cove, N.Y.)

To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student, and have earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher for the past academic year.
 
Also announced by the IWLCA on Wednesday, July 26, 308 teams across the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, II, III, platforms and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) were recognized as 2017 Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads.  Withe a 3.18, the 2017 Dominican College women's lacrosse team qualified for the distinguished honor, which recognizes teams who collectively earn a 3.0 GPA or higher for the academic year.
