WOMEN'S LACROSSE TABBED THIRD IN 2018 CACC PRESEASON POLL
New Haven, Conn. (2/6/18) Defending champion Georgian Court University was slated first in the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, as announced on Tuesday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Lions earned 96 points and seven first-place votes in the poll, as the voting was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches in the sport at the conference level.

The Lions earned 96 points and seven first-place votes in the poll, as the voting was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches in the sport at the conference level.
Jefferson, who Georgian Court defeated in last year's final, came in second place in the poll with 83 points, while Dominican College rounded out the top three with 79 points (1 1st-place vote). The Rams knocked off the Lady Chargers in a thrilling CACC semifinal last season.
Georgian Court returns the services of junior Samantha Fernandez, who a season ago was named the CACC Player of the Year by registering 74 goals and 14 assists for 88 points. She was also named to the CACC All-Tournament Team for helping to lead the Lions to the conference crown.
The 2018 CACC Women's Lacrosse Championship will be held from April 24, 28-29, with the first-round games to be held on Tuesday the 24th at the sites of the highest seeds. The top-two teams in the regular-season standings, along with the two first-round winners, will advance to the CACC semifinals on Saturday the 28th at 12 and 2:30 p.m. The CACC Championship Final will be conducted the next day on Sunday the 29th. Both the semis and final will be held on the GCU Turf Field in Lakewood, N.J., on the Georgian Court campus.
