DOMINICAN FALLS IN NON CONFERENCE GAME TO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Manchester, N.H. (3/3/18) The Lady Chargers traveled to Southern New Hampshire University for a non-conference game against the Penmen. Dominican entered Saturday afternoon's game in search of their first win of the 2018 season. The Lady Chargers will have one more game before on Sunday before their first home game of the season.
Both teams entered today's contest searching for their first win of the season. The Penmen scored two early goals on the Lady Chargers to take a 2-0 lead on goals by Kennedy Daziel and Alexa Bedell. Both goals came within just over a minute from each other.
The Lady Chargers cut the deficit in half when Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, N.Y.) scored her fourth goal of the season after she took a pass from teammate Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, N.Y.). The Penmen answered by scoring four unanswered goals in three minutes. Jeanie Peluso (Stony Point, N.Y.) ended the SNH scoring run by scoring her second goal of the season.
SNHU and Dominican traded the next two goals as Daziel scored her second of the game for the Penmen. The Lady Chargers cut the deficit to 7-3 when Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) scored a free position goal for her fourth of the season. Dominican scored their fourth goal of the game and second consecutive goal when Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored her second of the season just twenty-eight seconds later.
The score remained the same for almost ten minutes until SNHU scored their eighth goal of the game with 8:54 left in the half. The Penmen finished the first half by scoring four more goals to end the first half on a five-goal scoring run. The Penmen entered the break with a 12-4 lead over the Lady Chargers.
The Penmen continued their strong play in the second half by outscoring the Lady Chargers 7-1. The Penmen scored six unanswered goals to extend out to an 18-4 lead. Kelleher scored with 9:16 to go to make it 18-5 and the Penmen finished the scoring with 1:33 to go to make the score 19-5 which would eventually be the final.
Dominican dropped to 0-3 on the season with the loss. Kelleher scored twice in the loss while Peluso, Fox, and Heegan scored a goal each. Fox added an assist and led the team in shots with nine. For the Penmen, Kristin Wilder and Alexis Felt led the team with four goals. Kennedy Daziel and Alexa Bedell scored three goals each. Courtney Karelas added two goals while Nicole Manning, Danielle Tompkins, and Merry Harrington all added to the scoring with one goal.
The Lady Chargers will continue their search for their first win of the season when they travel to Assumption College on Sunday March 4th at 1:00 PM.
