FOX AND HEEGAN LEAD DOMINICAN TO VICTORY OVER POST

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/418) The Lady Chargers hosted Post University on Wednesday at Torne Valley Sports Complex for a CACC contest. Dominican improved their 2018 record to 2-6 (1-1 CACC) with a 17-8 victory over the Eagles. The Eagles fell to 1-10 (1-3 CACC) with the loss.
The Eagles got off to a quick start when Toni Deren scored less than a minute into the first half. Dominican scored the game's next three goals to jump out to a 3-1 lead. Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) scored twice in during the run while Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) added her first goal of the game.
The Eagles scored two consecutive goals to tie the game up at 3-3. The Lady Chargers used a four-goal run to extend their lead out to 7-3. Fox and Heegan split two goals each to help the Lady Chargers extend their lead.
Both teams traded goals for the rest of the first half and the Lady Chargers took a 10-7 lead into halftime. Fox finished the first half with five goals and Heegan finished with three goals. Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, N.Y.) added a goal in the first half and Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, N.Y.) added a goal.
The Lady Chargers dominated the second half by scoring seven straight goals to extend out to a 17-7 lead. The Eagles ended the run with a goal with just over three minutes to go. Dominican held the lead for the duration of the second half and secured the 17-8 win.
Fox and Heegan led the Lady Chargers with seven goals each in the win. Cara Moran (Tomkins Cove, N.Y.) earned the win and recorded 10 saves for the Lady Chargers.
Dominican will be back in action on Saturday April 7th when they travel to Holy Family University for a CACC match up at 12:00 PM.
