HEEGAN SCORES 10 GOALS TO LEAD DOMINICAN TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Nyack, N.Y. (4/10/18) The Lady Chargers improved to 4-6 (3-1 CACC) with a win over Nyack College for their third straight win. Dominican recorded 17 goals in the first half which helped propel them to a 22-11 victory.
Early on in the first half, both teams were even by trading goals for most of the half. With less than ten minutes remaining in the first half, the Lady Chargers regained the lead and did not look back for the duration of the game.
Dominican used a six-goal run to extend out to a 14-8 lead over Nyack. Dominican finished the first half with three more goals to cap off the 17-goal first half and took a 17-9 lead into halftime.
Dominican continued their strong play into the second half. Dominican scored the first five goals of the second half to extend out to their largest lead over the Warriors. Nyack added two more goals before the end of the game, but Dominican secured the victory to continue their streak to three.
Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) led the way with 10 goals on 19 shots in the win. Heegan recorded seven goals in the first half to help Dominican earn their early over the Warriors. Jenna Fox (Stony Point, NY) scored five goals in the win while Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, N.Y.) added three goals. Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, N.Y.) scored two goals, Taylor Sobel (Oradell, N.J.) and Jeanie Peluso (Stony Point, N.Y.) both added one goal. Cara Moran (Tomkins Cove, N.Y.) recorded 16 saves in the win.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Thursday April 12th at 4:00 PM when they host the Cougars of Caldwell University as they look to extend their winning streak to four straight games.
