Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/14/18) The Lady Chargers lacrosse team defeated Felician University in a CACC contest by a score of 18-1. Dominican entered the game riding a four-game winning streak and were looking to extend that streak and earn another conference win. With the win, the Lady Chargers improved to 6-6 (5-1 CACC). With the loss, Felician falls to 0-11 (0-7 CACC)
Dominican jumped out to a quick lead in the opening half by scoring the game's first five goals. Felician ended the five-goal run when Jashima Brathwaite scored to make the score 5-1.
For the duration of the first half, Dominican dominated by scoring the next ten goals to extend their lead out to 15-1. The Lady Chargers had ten different goal scorers in the first half to help propel them to the large lead.
The Lady Chargers added three more goals in the second half to extend out to an 18-1 lead which eventually became the final score.
Jenna Fox (Stony Point, NY) and Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, NY) both finished with three goals to lead the Lady Chargers to the win. Samantha Korovich (Hicksville, NY), Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, NY), Taylor Sobel (Oradell, NJ), and Carly Rose (Bayville, NJ) all finished with two goals in the win. Ciara Shalvey (Cavan, Ireland), Aileen Burke (Pearl River, NY), Tara Carney (Norwalk, CT), and Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, NY) all contributed one goal in the win.
Cara Moran (Tomkins Cove, NY) started in goal for the Lady Chargers and finished with two saves in the win.
The Lady Chargers have three games remaining in the 2018 season. Their next game will be a CACC match up on Monday April 16th when they host Jefferson University at Torne Valley Sports Complex at 4:00 PM.
