LADY CHARGERS PICKED FIRST IN 2024 CACC WOMEN'S LACROSSE PRESEASON POLL

New Haven, Conn. (2/1/24) Defending champion Dominican University on Thursday was selected first according to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Chargers earned 80 points and eight of 10 first-place votes in the voting which was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches in the sport.
Dominican, which has appeared in each of the last two CACC Championship Finals, claimed last year's women's lacrosse title by defeating Thomas Jefferson University in the CACC final. The Rams were second in this season's poll with 71 points and the other two first-place nods.
Rounding out the top three included Georgian Court University in third place with 61 points. The Lions have won five of the last six CACC Championships in the sport of women's lacrosse.
The 2024 season gets underway in mid February with several teams in action, as the regular season will be a buildup to the CACC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament the week of April 29-May 5, at the sites of the highest seeds for the first round and semifinals. The championship final will be hosted by Dominican University on Sunday, May 5.
