LADY CHARGERS EXTEND WINNING STREAK WITH WIN OVER CALDWELL
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/9/24) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team earned their eighth straight win after downing the Cougars of Caldwell University on O'Brien Field.
The Lady Chargers improve to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) earned her 10th win of the season in net for the Lady Chargers.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.), Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.), and Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) each finished with a hat trick. Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) added a team-high seven assists while Grella recorded five assists.
Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.), and Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) each scored two goals. Alexa Preston (Coram, N.Y.), Meaghan Kennedy (Staten Island, N.Y.), and Lea Henke (Rocky Point, N.Y.) each added one goal. Ortiz and Costello combined for 12 draw controls.
During today's game, Costello became the program's all time leader in points and Grella recorded her 200th career point.
The Lady Chargers opened the game with 10 goals in the first quarter and continued the run into the second quarter with three more goals.
Megan Molinelli scored the first goal of the game for the Cougars and later Tiana Cipot also added one goal.
The Lady Chargers added three goals in the fourth and secured the conference win.
DU returns to action on Thursday afternoon when they visit St. Thomas Aquinas College for a non-conference contest at 3:00 PM.
