Sparkill, N.Y. (4/11/24) Dominican University New York women's lacrosse player, Grace DeStasio (West Hemptead, N.Y.) netted her 200th career goal this afternoon as the Lady Chargers defeated host, St. Thomas Aquinas College, 23-5, in a non-conference game played on Spartan Field.
Following the win, Dominican extends their winning streak to nine games and improves to 11-2 on the season.
DeStasio hit the 200th goal milestone with 2:51 remaining in the third quarter with the unassisted score. She finished the contest with seven goals, one assist, six draw controls and five ground balls.
Junior attacker Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) also netted seven goals and one assists, while adding four ground balls.
Attacker Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) dished out a season high six assists to go along with three goals, while Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) scored two goals .
Alivia Chieca (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Lea Henke (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Alexa Preston (Coram, N.Y.) all scored a goal with Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) adding one goal and four assists in the victory.
Goalie Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) made two saves in 33 minutes, while Kathryn Ehrlinger (Levittown, N.Y.) had two saves in the remaining 26:08.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is a road trip to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Wilmington University.
