CALERO LEADS LADY CHARGERS OVER CONCORDIA COLLEGE

(9/14/16) Forward Taylor Calero (New City, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the 50th minute of play to lead the Dominican College women's soccer team to their first game of the season over host, Concordia College, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

The Lady Chargers struck first as junior midfielder Kaitlyn Montera (New City, N.Y.) took a long shot from the sideline after the pass from Calero to give them the 1-0 lead in the 8th minute of play.
Concordia tied the game at the 27:22 mark on a shot from the left side.
Dominican took the lead for good at 50:03 when Calero capitalized on a Clipper turnover and dribbled past the last defender and found the back of the net for the 2-1 lead and win.
Sophomore keeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas) made 10 saves in the victory.
Calero and Amanda Saab (Oakland, N.J.) each had three shots in the win, while Jenna Gray (Pine Bush, N.Y.) had two shots on goal.
DC improves to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The team will travel to Holy Family University this coming Saturday.
